So I decided very last minute to enter the Penguin Design competition. I took a chance and thought well either they like it or they don't! I used images that I have already screen printed for another project and I've just edited them in photoshop. There is also a lot of hand writing that I did using a copic pen (the new love of my life!). Although very rushed and mainly an excuse to procrastinate from my other work I actually really like what I've produced.
Doing this course has made me realise that really I work better under stress and with tighter time constraints. Really when I'm given time I don't know what to do with myself!... and that's when I start second guessing. ALL ABOUT GUT INSTINCT!
So I have just started my projects at uni, things are moving along nicely. One of my self directed projects is to create some sort of book on America. I want to eventually screen print it but at the moment I'm just planning and experimenting through photoshop. So here is a look at some I have been playing with.
I want to look more at reflective images and colour, which I can't wait to do.
As you may be able to tell I have been obsessed with magic and all things magical. Hence all the witches and magical hands.
At the moment I'm busy with Uni work and preparing for INPRINT Liverpool, I have all my cards to fold and package and then make belly bands for the Christmas cards! ANNNDDDD its my first day of my Final year at Uni today. I can't believe how fast it has come round.
Another print I shall be selling at INPRINT. These came out of a day where i forced myself to sit down and make something, a sign that I'm wanting new underwear!?! maybe. I have to say though I'm loving all the pastel colours in this and the slightly off filling of colour. I may be behind by about a few years doing this, but boy I have found this now.
Think this is about as emo as I get... and even this has pastel colours.
Look out for this as a print at the getting ever closer INPRINT Liverpool! Today I am moving back to the 'pool for University so it shall be a very busy and emosh day, but i'm so excited to start again.
