The other Boleyn girl

Wow... I haven't posted in a WHILE! Life has been comfortable lately. Art work has been started and not finished, work has taken up most of my time. It been really hard to fit in drawing and painting and really hard to find inspiration. It has not been easy to continue being as creative since finishing university, I didn't think it would be this hard. Enough depressing graduate talk. I'm going to an open day for Camberwell masters course next month which should help me get more motivated.

Anyway, this lovely painting I did quite a while ago back in the summer, when I also did Henry VIII. Coming back to this blog, while changing all my email addresses, I notice this picture and actually; I quite like it. Im starting to work a lot more with water colour since I don't have the resources that I did at uni.

Im going to get scanning all the unfinished art work that I have in my small studio and see if i can make something/ actually use it as a final piece. So keep an eye out for all those masterpieces!

The Graduate

Thats right folks. I can no longer be classed as a student. On Thursday 17th July I graduated with a BA Honours in Graphic Design and Illustration from Liverpool John Moores university. Thursday also happened to be the hottest day of the year so far, and lets just say those gowns aren't light and breezy! I had such a lovely day and although the weather was crazy hot I'm glad it was nice as it meant we could get loads of lovely pictures outside (and it meant that my hair stayed nice too!)

I can't believe how fast those three years have gone and how much I have learnt and come on as an illustrator and designer. Looking back at some of my art foundation work almost seems comical. I only wish I could stay a student a little bit longer. I'll be continuing to draw and sell my work which i shall keep updating on here and my tumblr. POSITIVE THOUGHTS FOR THE FUTURE! GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ARE ALSO GRADUATING THIS YEAR!

All the social media.

As some of you may have seen in my 'where else to find me' in the side bar I have added a Facebook page. Yes thats right i now have a Facebook page for all my work and updates. This will include updates in my Etsy shop, sketchbook work and daily adventures.

It is still early days for my Facebook page and I'm still getting used to posting things on there but I'm so excited for everything to get going! Keep your eyes peeled for exclusive codes for my shop or new work that I'm getting ready to sell! So please go and like my fledgling of a page and who knows where it could end up!

We're the Kids in America.

So I have just started my projects at uni, things are moving along nicely. One of my self directed projects is to create some sort of book on America. I want to eventually screen print it but at the moment I'm just planning and experimenting through photoshop. So here is a look at some I have been playing with.

I want to look more at reflective images and colour, which I can't wait to do.

Happy 2014 and back to work.

So I'm finally back in Liverpool after a very relaxing Christmas break, which means Happy New Year to you! and getting back to work for me.
Slowly settling back in to actually doing work and not just lazing about in my onesie watching films all day. Got some good ideas for this terms work and there could be some interesting opportunities on the horizon! So things could get exciting this semester.
This is my last semester. EVER. (if this one includes that little bit after easter too) which is daunting but exciting too.
Hopefully i'll be posting a lot more this semester...but no promises.

HAPPY 2014!

All I need to do now is send them off to be printed and then I should be able to sell them! So keep your eyes peeled for an announcement of an etsy store opening soon and for pictures of my cards finally printed.

If you want to see some pictures of my holiday go over to my Instagram and I'm sure there will be plenty of beach pictures for you to ogle over. I may also be tweeting when i can be bothered so head over to my twitter!

the #ablogger hashtag

So some of you may have already heard about the #ablogger hash tag that Laura at CardBoardCities (her work is amazing!) has come up with. Which is such a wonderful idea! I've been reading and following blogs for a while now, and not just art blogs but fashion, lifestyle and beauty. And from following these people on twitter and reading their blogs you notice that the lifestyle, beauty and fashion bloggers all have hash tags so that you can discover other blogs and become part of their community on the twitter. However, I have never noticed this for art blogs. There is #handmadehour which people also promote on but with this new hash tag thanks to Laura I feel that the creative community will grow and support each other a bit more. GO ARTISTS!

At the moment there is a talk/chat every Wednesday at 7pm (UK time) and all you have to do is use the hash tag to be part of it! WOWEE! I can't wait to meet and talk with more creatives. :)
